KRR ProStream was selected to enter the Sustainability/Green award in April 2015 by Eagle Radio, as KRR ProStream is dedicated to recycling and green practices not only in its business, but we also encourage our employees to be green in their everyday lives.
We are pleased to report that we will continue to manage the Loseley Park Recycling Scheme for another year until September 2015. The Scheme has been operating under our management since 2006 with the current 'Bring-Your-Own' approach in place since 2010. The 10 member organizations bring and segregate Dry Mixed Recyclables, Paper and Cardboard into separate bins whose contents are recycled. The Scheme has been very successful with an estimated 27 tonnes of materials recycled and diverted from landfill in the period 2006 to mid-2014.
KRR ProStream are very pleased to announce that recently we have formed an alliance with Achilles. This will enable all the subscribers to the Achilles registry to access the KRR ProStream data base of products and services that we offer to industry. Our main emphasis is still on the Power Sector, Energy from Waste, Coal and Natural Gas. We are confident that by being on the Achilles UVDB system, we hope our profile will be improved and suppliers will become more familiar and confident in KRR ProStream.
We are delighted to announce that KRR ProStream will be exhibiting and delivering a seminar at the upcoming Energy Recovery Expo, part of the Sustainability Live 2014 event that will take place from the 1st to the 3rd of April at the Birmingham NEC.
We will be located on stand E54. Visit us to find out more about our range of advanced online cleaning technologies, and how these cost-effective solutions can help you to realise significant performance improvements at your plant.
Additionally, at 11:40am on 3rd April in the Energy Recovery Seminar, Robin Buller, Business Development Director at KRR Prostream will be participating in a panel discussion of innovative technologies in EfW applications, delivering a five minute presentation on the application of pressure wave technology in steam boilers.
If you are attending the event then we do hope you will be able to pay us a visit. If you would like to make an appointment to ensure that you have the chance to speak to one of our representatives in depth then do let us know. We will be pleased to accommodate you.
Coming to the end of 2013 we look back on a year that has seen a number of changes in the power generation sector, based partly on Government policy shifts, but also on market conditions. These have opened up several new possibilities for KRR Prostream, which we have been working hard to develop.
We are now successfully applying Mobile PWT in CCGT plants, something that our counterparts in Europe have been doing for some time. Our technology is used to remove oxidisation and deposits from the HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) with significant and near instantaneous benefits to overall plant efficiency.
We have also been exploring new techniques for applying our Heat Exchanger Cleaning technology to glass tube heat exchangers, thereby broadening the range of plants where this service can be of benefit.
2013 has also seen KRR ProStream expand beyond our traditional clientele of EfW and power generation facilities, carrying out work at paper manufacturing and recycling facilities.
With these new plant cleaning methodologies at our disposal, new markets to explore and a healthy outlook for the capital sales side of the business, we are optimistic about 2014. The recession may not be entirely over, but energy will continue to grow as an industry and the demand for ways to reduce production costs, improve efficiencies and avoid boiler down time will grow alongside it.
We wish all our clients and suppliers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We are delighted to announce that KRR ProStream will be exhibiting and delivering a seminar at the upcoming Energy from Waste Expo, part of the Sustainability Live 2013 event that will take place from the 16th to the 18th of April at the Birmingham NEC.
We will be located on stand N30, adjacent to the EfW Expo catering area. Visit us to find out more about our range of advanced online cleaning technologies, and how these cost-effective solutions can help you to realise significant performance improvements at your plant.
Additionally, at 2pm on 18th April in Energy from Waste Theatre 2, Robin Buller, Business Development Director at KRR Prostream will be delivering a one hour seminar entitled How to improve efficiency in Energy from Waste plants using Smart Technology.
Robin will discuss how the latest solutions from Europe can boost the efficiency of EfW facilities and draw on real life examples to demonstrate the scope of the performance improvements that can be achieved, both in terms of increased electricity generation and reduced CO2 production. Following the seminar there will also be a short Q&A session, handled by the experienced Process Engineers from the KRR ProStream team.
If you are attending the event then we do hope you will be able to pay us a visit. If you would like to make an appointment to ensure that you have the chance to speak to one of our representatives in depth then do let us know. We will be pleased to accommodate you.
The team at KRR ProStream are delighted to be supporting one of our local charities, the Guildford Environmental Forum, via the donation of some IT equipment.
The Guildford Environmental Forum (GEF) has been in existence for more than 20 years, raising awareness around a range of environmental issues from recycling and waste management though to energy efficiency and sustainable building practices. In addition to organising talks and forging links with other local organisations, the GEF also lends practical support to a wide range of community projects, including ongoing work to reduce the environmental impact of Guildford's public buildings and transport systems.
John Bannister is the GEF Executive Officer for Schools, Renewable Energy and Community Projects. He said,
"Our mission has always been to raise awareness about climate change, the need to reduce our use of fossil fuels and the use of the earth's other resources, and to safeguard wildlife for future human generations. We do this through strong links with similar organisations and businesses, tracking technology, arranging interesting speakers on related topics and implementing community projects.
"The gift of KRR...is greatly appreciated and will help to improve our operational effectiveness."
We hope that this will be the start of a new relationship between KRR ProStream and the GEF, and we are already looking forward to joining them 'in the field' on one of their forthcoming community projects. Watch this space for more information!
Visit the GEF homepage to find out more about their activities.
We are pleased to announce that every member of the KRR ProStream team has recently been awarded a Safety Passport, issued by the Client Contractor National Safety Group (CCNSG) on behalf of the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB).
All CCSNG Safety Passport holders attend a comprehensive two day training course that focuses on health & safety matters of particular relevance to industrial facilities.
More than 20 subjects are covered, including:
- Safe Behaviours at Work
- Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- Risk Assessments
- COSHH
- PUWER
- Noise
- HAVS
- Confined Space
- Working at Height
- Electrics
- Environment
The training on each subject area also forms the basis of a test, which must be passed in order for the Safety Passport to be awarded at the end of course.
We know that many operators in the power generation sector are strong advocates of the CCNSG Safety Passport Scheme. We hope that this latest achievement for the KRR ProStream team will be taken as further confirmation of our unwavering commitment to the very highest standards of health and safety in all of our onsite operations.
We have just returned from RWM 2012 and firstly we would like to thank everybody who came to visit us on our stand or attended our session in the Technology and Innovation Theatre. It was a pleasure to meet you all and we hope that you found our services interesting.
One of the best things about this year's event was the sense of excitement about the future of the UK EfW industry. Everybody we spoke to was optimistic about the prospects for growth and investment in the sector, and was encouraged by the fact that the drive for expansion and technological advancement that has always characterised commercial interests is finally receiving some very welcome political support.
There is already evidence that independent foreign money is picking up on the growth potential of our industry and beginning to look for opportunities. We can only hope that our own banks will catch on too and give our operators the support they need to expand their role as an essential component of the UK energy mix.
We hope your experience of RWM 2012 matched our own and look forward to seeing you at next year's event. If in the meantime you would like to discuss any of our services then please do get in touch.
